		<description>I&#039;ve read from authoritative sources (Dr. Michael Colgan- trains Olympic athletes), and talked to professionals who&#039;ve run weight-loss clinics, both of which do not recommend trying to lose more than 3-4 pounds per week. Any more than this and it triggers the bodies survival reaction to NOT lose the weight, and it tries to get it back.

So you&#039;ve got the roller-coaster diet phenomenon of losing lots of weight very fast, then eventually gaining it back. 

A long-term gradient approach may be the best way to go.
